Ahhh, Slings and Arrows. I had been putting off wetting my feet in it for awhile, because I had found the first episode sluggish when it first aired on Sundance Channel here in the States. My mom became an ardent fan (lover as she is of all things Shakespeare, and all things McKinney), and urged me to give it another go. Finally, the first season came out on DVD and she bought it right away, and tonight I finally sat down and watched it with her. And watched some more. And we ended up watching all six episodes, and I am now ravenous for more.
It is such a beautifully written show that it makes the jaw drop. And did I mention how funny it is? Because it really. Really. Is.
They're now producing the third season and god knows when the second will be available on DVD (or rerun on the Sundance channel-- but the first season will be reairing starting August 7) but for god's sake, watch this show. It's brilliant.
It also has the best theme song I've heard since the theme to It's Garry Shandling's Show.
Um. Evidently Dave was on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson LAST night. There were conflicting reports so I Tivoed it just in case. The clip is now up on their website in case you missed it.
