Looking for a Dave fix? Check out Canada's Top Ten for a screening of Don McKellar's second feature, Childstar, on Friday, January 28 at 8:45 p.m. at Cinemathèque Ontario (in Toronto).
Here's the storyline:
McKellar returns with a witty, surprisingly sensitive look at the crazed life of a bratty pre-teen celebrity. A commentary on the movie industry, cross-border relations and the meaning of family, Childstar features an accomplished cast, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dave Foley and, of course, Alan Thicke in a memorable cameo.
Dave Foley and Alan Thicke, together at last! How can you pass up that action, I ask you?
The screening is preceded by a panel discussion at 6:30:
MARRIAGE OF THE MINDS: DIRECTORS AND CINEMATOGRAPHERS Friday, January 28, 2005 at 6:30 PM
One of the most significant relationships on any film is the one between the director and his cinematogrpaher. Several of Canada's finest filmmakers and DOPs – Don McKellar and Andre Turpin (Childstar) and Daniel Roby and Eric Cayla (La Peau Blanche) – discuss the nature of this relationship and the process of developing visual strategies for storytelling.
Please, go, and tell me all about it!
Buy your tickets NOW as there are limited tickets available for the screening.
Looks like there's a new blog for Spanish-speaking KITH fans atthekidsinthehall.blogspot.com. (I noticed it listed in my site referrals. Which reminds me, I don't mind it when people take pictures from my site-- they're not my property and should be shared with all fans, which is why I don't watermark them-- but it IS nice when people acknowledge where they got them, like this person did. Just an FYI. :)
this is a weblog devoted to comedy troupe kids in the hall. are you a KITH fan? tend to be good at finding things of notifiable content? want to join? drop me an email! (it may take a while, but i'll get to it)
